Ils ont rassemblé des espèces à rapporter en Angleterre. Ils ont esquissé et peint ces différentes beautés d'orchidées dans leur cadre naturel. Aujourd'hui, en raison du développement, de la pollution et de la perte des tourbières et des conditions de croissance idéales, beaucoup comme cette orchidée tropicale de la famille des chaussons de dame, ne poussent plus à l'état sauvage. Nous avons de la chance que l'Ontario ait encore des taches naturelles de jaune, de rose et quelques-unes des pantoufles voyantes. Il y en a peut-être d'autres que je ne connais pas. En tant que citoyens de l'Ontario, nous devons protéger des zones clés comme nos terres humides et nos tourbières, nos boisés et nos sources d'eau. Nous en avons beaucoup ici, dans cette province, mais sans changement, en un clin d'œil, des espèces pourraient disparaître. Dave et moi étions à un spectacle d'orchidées à Londres (2008) et je n'ai pas eu le nom de cette orchidée mais j'ai aimé son style. J'encourage chaque Ontarien à éteindre la télévision et à faire une promenade tranquille du côté sauvage dans une zone de conservation, un terrain de brousse ou un parc à proximité. Sulky Charrue et Fraise Rouan Belges STYLO ET ENCRE « Collection d'allumettes de labour du comté d'Elgin » – 2009 Cette estampe fait partie de ma collection 2009 d'allumettes de labour du comté d'Elgin. Le comté a tenu son match en 2009 dans les fermes de Tom Bradish près de Talbotville. Dave et moi nous sommes levés et nous nous sommes dépêchés de prendre le petit déjeuner, avons rassemblé nos appareils photo et chargé mon scooter. Nous étions partis et quelle belle journée c'était. La participation des laboureurs était excellente. Nous avons passé une merveilleuse journée et ces croquis à la plume et à l'encre sont un bon témoignage de cet événement. Le match de comté de 2010 a eu lieu sur la ligne Sparta en août. Nous y sommes allés pendant une heure, mais nous avons ensuite dû partir pour nous rendre à Milton pour l'événement des chevaux lourds au Country Heritage Park, mais c'est une autre histoire. J'ai adoré à la fois le labour à cheval antique et les tracteurs et charrues antiques nombreux et variés. Un tel assortiment pour plaire à toutes les envies particulières de tous les fans ! – Jenny

Attelage percheron à trois chevaux STYLO ET ENCRE Mon père, Don Feick, son père Ed, son frère Earl et son oncle Clayton Shantz étaient tous des laboureurs champions aux compétitions de labour du comté et internationales. Ils labouraient tous avec des chevaux. Le grand-père de papa, Wendell Shantz, était copropriétaire d'un étalon percheron enregistré populaire. Wendell a voyagé partout avec ce cheval pour servir les juments percheronnes. Les dandys Percherons, comme cet attelage à trois chevaux, étaient donc un incontournable de la famille. Voici Ed Feick à la charrue avec son frère Herb Feick et un ami lors d'un combat de labour. Trois attelages de chevaux lors de matchs n'étaient pas courants. Tous les Feick aimaient gagner et frimer un peu.

Nous avons été impressionnés par l'état impeccable de chaque tracteur. Nous avons pu prendre de bonnes photos à l'intérieur, mais l'angle et la proximité avec d'autres tracteurs nous ont limités à ce que nous pouvions photographier. Notre hôte m'a gentiment invité à exposer et vendre mes gravures aux « jours de labour » à Glanworth sur la ferme de Tom Bradish. Il s'agit du treizième événement annuel parrainé par une poignée de collectionneurs de tracteurs. Des démonstrations, des expositions de tracteurs, des vendeurs, un encan silencieux et un poisson frit avec de la musique en direct font tous partie de cet événement. Restauré par Paul et Ruth Laidlaw de Londres en 2000 après la retraite de mon père. Mon père Elroy aimait conduire ce modèle restauré dans les défilés jusque dans ses années 90. Je n'en ai jamais vu un autre vendu. (Oiseau rare) –Paul Laidlaw Tracteur de cas J'étais dans l'un de mes endroits préférés à visiter, Country Heritage Park, Milton, ON. Ce grand parc était l'ancien musée agricole et il jouxte l'autoroute 401. J'ai vu ce tracteur orange vif avec le gril sunburst et je me suis arrêté pour faire quelques croquis très approximatifs de temps en temps, avec des photos de sauvegarde. J'adore la couleur et c'était un orange incroyable que les recherches ont révélé plus tard sous le nom de «rouge flambeau». Je n'avais pas beaucoup d'informations sur le tracteur, mais j'ai trouvé une note qui disait que la couleur de la peinture avait été enregistrée en 1944 dans un bureau des brevets et la note disait qu'elle avait été utilisée pour la première fois sur le modèle "R" en 1939. C'est tout. Tout ce que j'ai vraiment là-dessus, puis-je dire un tracteur « mignon » ? Original disponible Parc d'alimentation McIntyre AQUARELLE Il y a plusieurs années, j'avais l'habitude d'aller au marché d'Aylmer avec mes peintures, mes vêtements de poupée Barbie et mes petits jouets en bois que David fabriquait. J'avais ma table à côté du bain à remous de ma mère et de mon père. J'ai appris à connaître tous les vendeurs réguliers au cours des huit années où j'ai assisté au marché. L'un de ces fournisseurs était le Cookie King d'Appin. Mes enfants étaient tous petits à l'époque et ils consommaient des cookies plus rapidement que je ne pouvais les faire cuire. Un jour, j'avais besoin d'une boîte de biscuits et je ne voulais pas attendre le marché de mardi, alors j'ai conduit jusqu'à Currie Road jusqu'à Appin. J'avais toujours mon appareil photo avec moi pour ne pas manquer de belles photos. Ai-je déjà été heureux de l'avoir fait ce jour-là. Combien reste-t-il de ces anciens parcs d'engraissement comme celui-ci ? Pas trop. J'adore le look abandonné de l'endroit avec les mauvaises herbes qui poussent partout. Remarquez la pompe à essence à l'ancienne, véritable pièce de collection aujourd'hui. Je sais que le parc d'engraissement avait une histoire colorée, mais il s'agissait des bâtiments et des clôtures à l'ancienne. Ce n'est qu'une autre partie de notre paysage agricole qui est en train de disparaître.

Accueil Ferme STYLO ET ENCRE Cette ferme du comté de Waterloo est l'endroit où ma mère a grandi. La ferme est maintenant exploitée par mon cousin germain, sa femme et sa famille. Nous avons passé nos vacances d'été ici et avons vécu de si belles aventures. C'était l'une des vues préférées de maman. En descendant des appartements à l'arrière de la ruelle, on pouvait voir des oiseaux bleus voler ici et là. Des papillons et des libellules flottaient dans la brise tandis que le soleil chaud nous séchait après notre plongeon dans l'ancien trou de baignade. J'ai eu la chance d'avoir une si belle enfance dans ce cadre idyllique. -Jenny

Charlie STYLO ET ENCRE Je me souviens d'un vers d'une vieille chansonnette écossaise que j'ai entendue quand j'étais enfant ». . . Oh . .Charlie est mon chéri . . . " et ce Charlie l'était certainement. Dave et moi avions emmené les enfants à la grande Lakes Fruit Farm sur Union Road. juste à l'extérieur de Port Stanley, en Ontario, pour notre cueillette annuelle de pommes. Les enfants se sont toujours amusés à s'amuser dans la propriété à cueillir des pommes et à goûter au fur et à mesure. Bob Lampman était là avec son attelage de chevaux belges pour faire des promenades en chariot public. Cette fois, il a eu une surprise. Sa jument avait donné naissance à cet adorable poulain, « Charlie ». Charlie allaitait toujours, alors il l'a suivi. J'ai dessiné à la fois "The Tag-A-Long" et "Charlie" et au fil des ans, ils ont été deux de mes tirages les plus vendus. La seule chose plus sucrée que Charlie était le cidre de pomme chaud et les pâtisseries chaudes et aromatiques aux pommes en vente dans le magasin. Rien que d'y penser, j'en ai l'eau à la bouche. Ford a vendu toutes sortes d'accessoires pour le modèle A afin de rendre l'achat du véhicule pratique pour l'agriculteur. Percherons en train de cultiver STYLO ET ENCRE Don Graham de Dunwich Twsp. montre son attelage de six chevaux Percheron aux foires et à Noël tire souvent un chariot de foin rempli de chanteurs autour du village de Dutton. Au printemps, Don aime atteler le cheval frais à un vieux cultivateur rouillé et travailler un sol argileux lourd.
